Ceramic to metal assemblies:
One of the unique abilities of ceramics
is to be able to bond metal to it. We use
a process
called “Metalizing”. We apply
a moly maganese paint to the surface
of the ceramic
material and sinter it to
the surface of the ceramic through a
hydrogen firing
and then apply a thin
film of nickel for all other metals to adhere to.
After the
metalizing process has been completed we can then braze metals such as
inconel or
other
metals to the ceramic, which in turn gives you the flexibility to either
weld, braze
or even thread the assembly to your other components.
Some of the industries for these applications are:
• Vacuum chambers
• Electrical feed thrus
